Select the matter you wish to add the entity to and click on the Matter Contacts icon
Click on the green Plus Sign and right click on the Entity field (top right hand of the screen) shown above, which will provide you with the following options:-
IMPORTANT NOTE:- Search for the entity first to see if they already exist in Partner before creating new ones (if you are unsure please ask for clarification). |
EXISTING CONTACT - If the entity does already exist in Partner – highlight the correct one you wish to use and click “OK” to add the entity to the matter.
Once selected you will need to select the main contact details (Address/telephone/email/ telephone/type/ref/ description etc).
If the contact does not already exist then click the “CANCEL” button then proceed with the create new entity option.
CREATE A NEW ENTITY - This option allows you to create a brand NEW entity. You have to select the “Lead Type” before it allows you to enter any details. Make sure you enter names and addresses in the correct fields. Entities should not be added if you do not have an address, this is to make sure we do not have any conflicts.
LEAD TYPES are used to differentiate between entities. For example:- Solicitors Practices/Estate Agents/Police Stations/Courts/Other side/Banks/Financial Advisors/Local Authority/Hospitals etc.
Once you have created your new entity you will need to select which address you need to correspond with. See Illustration below:-
