Recall an email

If you send a standard email through Outlook to an external recipient, you cannot successfully recall it. If you attempt to do so then the recipient will get a notification that you have attempted to recall but the email won't be recalled. 


If you have sent a secure email through Mimecast, you can recall it.


If the email is still in your sent items in Outlook:


1. You should see this. Click the down arrow.



2. Click Recall Message




If the email is not in your sent items in Outlook


1. In Outlook, go to the Mimecast tab and click Online Sent Items.



2. Locate the email. You can use search features if you need to. 


3. When you have located the email, you will see an eye symbol showing whether the email has been read and you will see the Recall icon to click on:
